Wet N Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick – Does it ‘MegaLast’?

People familiar with the beauty world know how liquid lipsticks blew up over the past year or two. Not only is there competition in the mid- to high-range brands, but even drugstore formulas are competing with the best. (This tends to make shopping for one much harder than it needs to be, at times.) So, how do they all measure up to each other?

This week, let’s break it down and take a look at Wet n Wild’s newest launch, their MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick.

Oh My Dolly with NYX Lip Lingerie in “Corset” ombre

Each tube is $4.99

Amount of Product

Each tube has 0.24 oz of color.

Wet n Wild claims that this liquid lipstick has vivid color, an “ultra-matte” finish, and comfortable wear time.

Color Selection

For being a drugstore brand, Wet n Wild offers a pretty great color spectrum for these lipsticks. You can find anything from nudes and pinks to crazy colors like red/orange, bright pink, and a vampy burgundy/brown that complement multiple skin tones.

Packaging & Formula

The packaging is pretty typical of a drugstore liquid lipstick made of plastic and maybe a little bit rounder than other products. Wet n Wild took the almost Jeffree Star-esque route with the applicator, however, and added the indented doe foot applicator at the end of the wand. (The wand, itself, is about average length.)

Applying the lipstick is fairly simple, for the most part. If you aren’t used to the differently-shaped applicator, you may mess up and get some color outside of the lines. Most of the lighter colors, though, are pretty forgiving as far as clean-up goes. The more vibrant pigments may give a little bit more trouble due to the formula drying so fast.

Despite the minimal cons, the wear time for this product is fantastic as well as comfortable (in matte liquid lipstick standards).

Overall Verdict

For a $4.99 lipstick, I highly approve. The color payoff is pretty damn good, and it lasts for hours. My main tip, however, would be to exfoliate your lips and let them sit with some lip balm before you apply, as it may show the dry patches and cracked lines once it dries down.
